सामाजिक न्याय मंत्रालय ने 1 अक्टूबर को SETU National Scholarship Portal mobile application की सुविधाओं पर जोर दिया। App में registration, biometric authentication, application submission और status tracking जैसी सेवाएं एक interface में उपलब्ध कराई गई हैं।
यह सेवा Department of Social Justice and Empowerment की Pre-Matric और Post-Matric scholarship schemes के पात्र beneficiaries, जिनमें Scheduled Caste और Other Backward Class students शामिल हैं, के लिए है। App 2026 में पहले ही launch हो चुका था; ताजा development implementation और access push है, कोई नई scholarship scheme नहीं।
एक mobile workflow कई portals के बीच जाने की जरूरत कम कर सकता है। लेकिन digital simplification से सभी barriers खत्म नहीं होते। device access, connectivity, biometric failure, language usability और data mismatch को correct करने की सुविधा पात्र छात्र के experience को प्रभावित कर सकती है।
UPSC के लिए यह digital welfare delivery का उदाहरण है। असली governance test यह है कि technology transaction costs घटाए, लेकिन assisted या offline support की जरूरत वाले applicants को बाहर न करे।
