Ministry of Coal ने 9 अक्टूबर को कहा कि September की कमजोरी के बाद power sector को coal deliveries में सुधार हुआ है। Daily supply September के trough से लगभग 36% ऊपर थी और October average September average से करीब 9% अधिक रही।
Clarification का केंद्र thermal power plants के लिए इस्तेमाल होने वाला “critical stock” tag था। Ministry के अनुसार यह normative stock level से नीचे आने पर early-warning trigger है; इसका अर्थ यह नहीं कि plant के पास coal समाप्त हो गया है या generation तुरंत बंद होने वाली है।
Power-sector fuel security केवल एक stock number से तय नहीं होती। Mine output, rail movement, plant-specific consumption, seasonal electricity demand और inventories का geographic distribution सभी महत्वपूर्ण हैं। इसलिए aggregate supply सुधरते हुए भी कुछ plants में buffer कम हो सकता है।
