भारत और नीदरलैंड ने कृषि सहयोग को गहरा करने पर द्विपक्षीय चर्चा की। कृषि मंत्रालय द्वारा 2 अक्टूबर को जारी जानकारी के अनुसार 28 सितंबर की बैठक में horticulture, seed-sector cooperation, market access और agricultural innovation मुख्य विषय रहे।
सहयोग का एक प्रमुख हिस्सा कृषि और बागवानी के 25 Centres of Excellence हैं। दोनों पक्षों ने seed sector में स्पष्ट work plan तैयार करने की संभावना पर भी सहमति जताई। ऐसे सहयोग में protected cultivation, planting material, post-harvest practices, water efficiency और knowledge exchange शामिल हो सकते हैं।
नीदरलैंड कृषि तकनीक और निर्यात में अग्रणी है, लेकिन भारत में छोटे जोत, अलग जलवायु और विविध फसल संरचना जैसी स्थितियां हैं। इसलिए technology transfer का अर्थ मॉडल की सीधी नकल नहीं; लागत, स्थानीय अनुकूलन, extension services और regulation परिणाम तय करते हैं।
