April-June 2026 में 7.8% real growth report होने के बाद criticism के बीच MoSPI Secretary Saurabh Garg ने India की नई GDP series का बचाव किया. उन्होंने कहा कि 2022-23 base year वाली revised series newer data sources use करती है और पुराने proxies पर dependence कम करती है.
GDP हर transaction की direct counting नहीं, एक statistical estimate है. Base-year revision, deflators, informal-sector measurement और direct data बनाम proxies का choice growth estimate को materially affect कर सकता है.
