Allahabad High Court ने law student Aakriti Chaudhary की National Security Act detention quash करने के बाद Gautam Buddha Nagar District Magistrate और अन्य officials पर displeasure service records में दर्ज करने का निर्देश दिया. Detailed order में ₹5 lakh compensation भी दिया गया, जिसे detention process के लिए जिम्मेदार अधिकारियों की salaries से recover करने को कहा गया.
Preventive detention state को conventional criminal conviction से पहले liberty restrict करने की exceptional power देता है. इसलिए procedural safeguards और ordinary law-and-order problem तथा public-order threat के बीच distinction बेहद महत्वपूर्ण है. Judgment सिर्फ final detention order नहीं, बल्कि administrative decision-making को भी scrutiny में लाता है.
