Global markets are entering a major central-bank week with investors focused on decisions from the U.S. Federal Reserve and the Bank of Japan.
The backdrop is unusually difficult because oil is above $100 and long-term bond yields are elevated. For India, tighter global rates can strengthen the dollar, reduce risk appetite and increase pressure on the rupee and domestic bond markets.
The combination matters more than either shock alone. Expensive oil worsens India's import bill while higher global yields can make capital more expensive, leaving the RBI to manage both external pressure and domestic liquidity conditions.
