India and Morocco held the first meeting of their Joint Defence Committee in New Delhi on September 8. The agenda covered military training and education, peacekeeping, exercises, medical cooperation, cyber defence and defence industries.
The development fits India’s broader effort to expand defence partnerships across Africa and the western Indian Ocean region. Morocco is also strategically located at the meeting point of the Atlantic, Mediterranean and North African spaces, giving the relationship a wider geopolitical dimension.
