Cochin Shipyard Limited और DP World company Drydocks World ने Cochin के International Ship Repair Facility को operate और expand करने के लिए 50:50 joint venture sign किया.
Government के अनुसार partnership India के ship-repair ecosystem को strengthen करने और growing regional तथा global demand serve करने के लिए है. Agreement BRICS summit के sidelines पर sign हुआ.
Ship repair strategically important है क्योंकि India major shipping routes के करीब है, लेकिन global repair और maintenance business का limited share capture करता है. Larger repair capacity maritime services, jobs और domestic shipping capability को support कर सकती है.
