Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) ने 2 अक्टूबर को बिहार के पूर्णिया से ग्रीस के लिए एक metric tonne popped makhana की export consignment को facilitate किया।
Shipment Mundra Port से Greece के Piraeus Port तक भेजी जा रही है। APEDA के अनुसार इस consignment में prevailing domestic selling price से अधिक price realisation मिला, लेकिन एक shipment से पूरे market के लिए स्थायी export premium साबित नहीं होता।
Makhana बिहार की wetlands और livelihoods, खासकर Mithila तथा उत्तर-पूर्वी जिलों से गहराई से जुड़ा है। Export बढ़ाने के लिए demand के साथ grading, processing, packaging, food-safety compliance, traceability, aggregation और logistics जरूरी हैं।
