The BRICS summit produced an unusual diplomatic outcome: Iran and the UAE supported common language on regional de-escalation despite deep tensions in West Asia.
The consensus followed prolonged negotiations, repeated top-level exchanges and support from other BRICS participants. The final formulation called for restraint without forcing members into identical geopolitical positions.
For India, the episode is important because it shows the value of convening power. New Delhi did not resolve the conflict, but it helped preserve a channel where adversarial states could still sign onto shared language.
