India and China held senior military-level talks over two consecutive days on September 6 and 7, the Ministry of External Affairs said. The meetings took place at Wacha on the Indian side and Damai on the Chinese side in the Arunachal Pradesh sector, amid tensions around Taksing in Upper Subansiri.

The development matters because much of the post-2020 border-management framework has focused on eastern Ladakh. Dialogue in the eastern sector shows that the Line of Actual Control remains a multi-sector military and diplomatic challenge. For UPSC, link this to border-management mechanisms, confidence-building measures, the geography of Arunachal Pradesh and the wider India-China relationship.
